     As the tournament weekend draws near, F.I.R.E. is preparing valiantly for the coming competition.

A major part of the coding is complete and flaming with success! 

Team members are burning with anticipation as heated efforts are still concentrated on last-minute touches to the robot and mascot.

What a great experience this has been so far! We have been discussing ideas for solutions to the challenges we have encountered, and have used the scientific method of testing and revision to our prototypes. For example, the ball lifter has been modified numerous times to fit the linear slides, and the extra long chord for the slides has been coiled and placed in a box at the top of the robot so that it no longer gets in the way of the gears. These modifications have been very successful and we can't wait to continue with our improvements!
